Zesty Honey Sriracha Grilled Chicken Wings – The lovely sweet taste of the honey and oranges compliment the intense spicy heat of the sriracha.Overhead view of a large serving dish of Zesty Honey Sriracha Grilled Chicken Wings

With the fourth of July just around the corner, I’m excited to share this fantastic recipe for finger-lickin’ good Zesty Honey Sriracha Grilled Chicken Wings.  We really don’t need an excuse to use our grill and you can be sure we’ll be grilling these sweet and spicy babies again next week.  One of the most popular recipes from this blog  pinned on Pinterest is for my Honey Sriracha Glazed Chicken and I completely understand why.  The lovely sweet taste of the honey and oranges compliment the intense spicy heat of the sriracha.  So, since my family loves this glaze so much, and apparently you do too, I thought I’d rework the recipe only slightly and pair it with chicken wings instead of chicken breasts and cook them up on the grill.

These Zesty Honey Sriracha Grilled Chicken Wings grill up so quickly, you really do have to watch them. Grab a beer and be sure to stand close by to flip them.  They’re perfect for any cookout you might be having and they’re wonderful if you’re serving a crowd.  I like to keep a little ranch dressing nearby because I find it helps temper the heat a bit.  And if you’re especially daring, add a bit more sriracha.  To my surprise, a few of my readers thought the chicken breasts could use a little more heat.  This kinda surprised me since I’m a Louisiana girl and grew up on Tabasco sauce.  I thought they were plenty spicy.  But hey, make them the way you like them.  I just recommend you add a little sriracha at a time…that stuff is potent!

I begin by preparing the delicious marinade.  I mix together barbecue sauce, orange zest, sriracha, honey, and Dijon mustard and add in the chicken wings.  I let them marinade for at least 30 minutes.  The longer the better.

Then, I place them on the grill.

Make sure the wings are covered with marinade, you’ll want the wings to hold on to those delicious flavors.

Brush the wings with a flavorful and spicy orange and honey glaze.

Just go ahead and pour all of the remaining glaze on the wings.  Don’t waste a bit of that deliciousness.

Let the chicken wings cook a little while longer and then take them off the grill.  Look at these!  Don’t they look good?

Finally, reserve a little glaze to pour over the chicken wings.

The warm glaze gives these chicken wings a sweet and tangy flavor and I think it would be perfect for your July 4th cookout.
