This delicious Olive Oil and Herb Dipping Sauce is so easy to make. Just olive oil mixed with herbs, garlic and salt.
We have a favorite little Italian restaurant in our area that my husband and I love to go to. It’s quiet, cozy and the chef makes use of many fresh seasonal vegetables from the area. We always know with confidence that our dinner there will be fresh and delicious every time. Right after we sit down at our table, before we order our meals, our waiter always brings us a bowl of olive oil filled with crushed garlic and fragrant herbs and a plate of warm, crusty bread. I’m not kidding when I tell you I could make a meal simply out of the olive oil and the bread.
Loving this very simple concoction so much, I decided to make our own version of olive oil herb dipping sauce using good quality extra virgin olive oil, crushed garlic, herbs and a pinch of salt. I use fresh herbs when my herb garden is producing, otherwise I use dried herbs. My husband and I love to eat this dipping sauce with bread while we’re cooking dinner together or even later in the evening with a glass of wine…we’ve also enjoyed this as our dinner when we just want something light.
