Quick, easy and healthy Hummus Pizza – Top a pizza crust with your favorite hummus and delicious sautéed onions and red peppers.
You guys, I am so excited for the College Meal section of this blog!
Now, onto this amazing recipe…
Hummus Pizza. Kind of a strange concept, isn’t it?
Really though – if you like hummus, you’ll absolutely love this pizza.
I’m a huge fan of the store bought pre-made pizza crusts. They usually come two to a pack and I use them all the time. They’re great for easy pizza making sessions and I think they taste pretty darn good.
I used one of the pre-made pizza crusts for the base of this pizza. I warmed it in the oven for about 10 minutes, then topped it with my favorite hummus. To add some extra crunch and flavor, I sautéed onions and red peppers in olive oil and added them to the top of the pizza. As the onions slowly cook, they sweeten and taste so delicious. It’s a great combination. Quick, easy and delicious.
This recipe lends itself well to substitutions too. Try adding fresh or sautéed spinach, cooked zucchini or even cherry tomatoes. Different combinations of veggies would work great. It’s a perfectly easy dairy-free, vegetarian meal.

What a great idea!! Love this “pie!”
Thanks, Patricia 🙂
I smear hummus on everything. But it’s never occurred to me to top a pizza with it. What a great idea. 🙂
Thanks Susan. I could put hummus on just about everything too.
Even though it has felt like YEARS since I have been in college (I’d go back in a heartbeat), I am looking forward to your recipes…Stay warm today and hopefully the sun comes out later!
Thanks, Katie. Hopefully we’ll see sun today – it seems like it’s been way too long. Have a great day!
That hummus pizza looks really good. I adore hummus. Would be good with simply roasted red peppers, too. Good recipe!
Thank you Gina. You’re right, the onions are totally optional and many other vegetables could be subsituted if you wanted to add them.
Since my brain is gearing up for Super Bowl foods, As I scrolled through your post, I thought if the pizza were cut into squares it would make great finger food!
What a great idea, Patti! It would be perfect for the big game day and easy to make too.
YUM, this sounds amazing! I haven’t had hummus in a long time and need to change that.
I could eat hummus every single day, Lora. I love it 🙂
