In my opinion, this is the best way to eat mashed potatoes. I love the warm and crisp outside with the flavorful, creamy inside. The mild saltiness from the cheese gives these mashed potato patties a wonderful taste.

  • Mashed potatoes
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Sharp cheddar cheese
  • Parsley
  • Egg
  • Bread crumbs
  • Garlic powder
  • Canola oil

How To Make This Recipe


  1. Mix all of the ingredients except the oil together. Using your hands, form into 1/2-inch patties and flatten with your palms.


  2. Heat the oil in a large sautรฉ pan over medium heat.


  3. Gently place the patties into the pan and lightly flatten with a flat spatula. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan.


  4. Cook until golden brown for about 3-4 minutes per side.


  5. Remove from the pan. Serve immediately.

Ingredients 

  • 4 cups mashed potatoes, cooled
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 3/4 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
