Almond Butter Energy Bites

These naturally sweet Almond Butter Energy Bites will certainly satisfy your sweet tooth. They make a perfectly healthy after school snack for my kids and a guilt free afternoon bite for me that energizes me to keep going.

  • 1 cup almond butter
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup pitted Medjool dates, chopped
  • 1/4 cup raw sunflower seeds
  • 1/3 cup raw sesame seeds, for rolling


  • In a large bowl, mix the almond butter, honey, cocoa powder, cinnamon and salt together. Stir in the dates and sunflower seeds.
  • Take a heaping tablespoon of the mixture and form it into a ball in your hands. Roll the balls in the sesame seeds to coat.
  • Although they can be enjoyed right away, they are better when they've had the chance to firm up in the refrigerator.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
