Roast Beef Po-boys – crusty french bread stuffed with juicy, fall-apart tender roast beef that’s been slow cooking for hours, topped with lettuce, mayonnaise and lots of gravy. Good and sloppy, just like they make ’em in New Orleans.
For these Vegetarian Sloppy Joes, I use lentils as the base and from there add red beans and garbanzo beans, diced sweet red peppers, lots of onions and garlic all mixed together and cooked in my crock pot. Sloppy, savory and flavorful.
The flavors are perfect in this muffuletta recipe. There are layers of ham, turkey pastrami, hard salami, pepperoni and provolone cheese. But the key ingredient, in my opinion, is the olive and carrot spread.
