This is a classic chocolate mousse recipe. There are several steps involved but don’t worry, even though it takes a little time, it’s so worth it!
In the first step, I melt 3 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate and whisk in an egg yolk. In the second step, beat the egg white and add in cream of tartar and sugar and beat until stiff peaks form. In the third step, whisk together heavy cream, sugar and vanilla to make whipped cream and in the final step, fold all of the elements of the chocolate mousse together. Very easy.
This recipe is one is the perfect dessert when you’re cooking for one. You could also layer the chocolate mousse in pretty parfait glasses and serve with berries between the layers and could easily make this a dessert that would serve two.
