A new Kroger Marketplace will open in Kingwood this Saturday, October 26.
The over 123,000 square foot store is located at 25651 U.S. Hwy 59 N. at Northpark Drive.
Inside the store, you’ll find all the products and merchandise you’ve come to love at the other Kroger stores. However, the Marketplace has so much more inside.
Here’s just a peek of what you’ll see…
A huge selection of beautiful flowers. Did you know that Kroger is the world’s largest florist?
A juice bar with a selection of freshly squeezed juices.
A huge produce section filled with Texas-grown produce including some types I’ve never even seen in local stores.
Look at the huge chestnuts and the baby cauliflower…
A Murray’s Cheese section, need I say more…
A full deli with more meat and cheese slicers than I’ve ever seen in a grocery. That means no wait! Yea!!
A bread section with a slicer. You can pick the loaf of bread you want and have it sliced for you.
Care to make your own candied apples? How fun!
A bakery section selling the largest cupcake creations I’ve ever seen, and did you know Kroger makes wedding cakes too?
A large health food department with many gluten-free products, a huge bulk spice section and an area where you can ground your own nut butters.
A massive beer selection featuring many locally brewed favorites and a special section for “dinner” beers.
Several aisles of wines and a wine consultant on site to help with selections. Kroger also offers a 10 percent discount on 6 or more bottles.
Don’t you love the light fixture made of wine bottles? I need this in my house, what do you think?
A huge pet food section with items not only for dogs and cats, but birds and other animals.
A baby section with clothing, furniture, diapers and more.
In addition, Kroger has a large book and greeting card section and a home goods section selling wine glasses, dishes, appliances and vacuums. There are also several aisles of toys and school supplies, and you will not believe the furniture section! I found the prices to also be affordable!
There’s even a Fred Meyer Jewelers within the store.
Other highlights include a large pharmacy area with two drive-throughs for prescription pick-ups, an area selling prepared sandwiches, fountain drinks and milkshakes and of course, a Starbucks located inside.
Kroger is a wonderful supporter of our community as well. In addition to the many added jobs to our area, the Kingwood Marketplace supports schools and charitable groups through the Kroger Community Rewards Program, which will donate $1.5 million to participating Non Profit Organizations. More information can be found at www.krogercommunityrewards.com.
There’s also a community room that can be “checked out” to groups that may need meeting space as well as a fuel center so you can fill up your gas tank using Kroger fuel points on your way home.
A highlight for me was to see the rows and rows of checkout lines. Kroger has a goal of speeding customers through the checkout line as quickly as possible with 26 seconds being the target time. Kroger installed overhead infrared sensors that count customers and analyze the most popular shopping times to better staff cash registers.
The Kingwood Marketplace opens Saturday, October 26th at 8 AM. The grand opening with ribbon cutting will be at 10 AM with a special performance by “The Voice” winner, Danielle Bradbery.
Thank you, Kroger for hosting the local bloggers and giving us the grand tour. We’re happy you’re here!
