There is holiday baking inspiration all around me.  The sights, the sounds and the scents of Christmas are everywhere and it all puts me in the mood to experiment with different flavor combinations.

One of my favorite flavor pairings is peppermint mocha and I find it every year around this time in my daughter’s favorite Starbucks holiday drink, Peppermint Mocha Frappicino.  So when Colleen tasted these Peppermint Mocha Cookies and  told me I got the flavors right, I was excited.

These sweet and festive cookies are so easy to make and I use Hershey’s new Candy Cane Mint Candies.  Have you ever tried them?

Oh my gosh!  These candies are so good!!  There are little pieces of peppermint candy in each little kiss.  Totally addictive!

In fact, I know I’m going to have to buy several bags of these kisses before the holidays are over so I can enjoy them after Christmas too.

And do you know what I did?

I threw one (okay, three!) into my cup of coffee.

I know!!! Crazy, but so good!

Soft and chewy with a creamy burst of sweet peppermint in the center make these cookies perfect.

To make these delicious holiday treats, mix the ingredients together and roll the dough into little balls.

Then, roll each ball in granulated sugar or decorative sugar.  The decorative sugar is thicker so it shows up on the cookies better after they are baked.

Place each ball of dough about an inch apart on a baking sheet, make an indentation with your thumb in the center of each ball of dough and place a sweet Hershey’s kiss in the center.

Melissa, Thank you so much for catching that! The recipe should read “3/4 cup sugar”. I updated the recipe to note the addition. Thanks again!
